The Most Powerful St. Faustina Quotes on Prayer
John Kubasak - Jul 28, 2016
St. Faustina’s Diary is a collection of six notebooks; they contain her personal reflections, chronicle visits from Jesus and Mary, and cover usual diary sorts of things, like the goings on of her convent. St. Faustina’s notes on prayer are of special value, for she not only has great wisdom in the spiritual life but a great love of Jesus. -
How These Martyrs for the Faith Can Get You Really Inspired
Sara and Justin Kraft - Jun 2, 2016
“Martyr” is a Greek word meaning witness. St. Peter himself uses the word in the Acts of the Apostles referring to all the apostles as “martyrs” to Jesus’ resurrection. In later years, the word came to mean a person who gave up his life rather than deny Jesus. One of the greatest gifts of the martyrs is their example of courage which we can look to when we face ridicule or pressure to make our faith only a private matter with little influence on... -
What Do You Know About These Marian Miracles?
W. P. Bennett - May 26, 2016
People love Marian Apparitions. There just seems to be something about the sites at which Mary has appeared that keep people flocking to them, centuries after the actual apparition. You’ve probably heard about some of the most famous ones- Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima—but there are many sites, some of which have hundreds of thousands of pilgrims each year, that you may not have heard of. Places like Knock, Ireland; Kiebho, Rwanda, and even Green Bay, Wisconsin all... -

Jeannie Ewing - May 10, 2016
The month of May heralds spring and lush, abundant life throughout creation – in the blossoms on trees, vibrant colors of flowers, and songbirds who return to nest after a long winter’s hiatus. A month largely devoted to our Blessed Mother, May also holds several notable feast days of other saints, many of whom withstood intense trials and false accusations of heresy. Throughout history, saints have been those who choose exemplary virtue in the face of uncertainty,... -
Boost Your Easter Season with these 10 Inspiring Saints
Jeannie Ewing - Apr 7, 2016
We read about the saints or perhaps learn distantly of their heroic virtue, often noting our own lack of sanctity and the seeming impossibility of our own sainthood. We are all saints in the making. What’s beautiful about the communion of saints is that they lived on earth in a fleshly body, just as we do, and, throughout the ages, have suffered from various ailments, psychological or emotional torment, temptation, and have learned to overcome their own particular vices, bad habits,... -
What Do You Really Know About the Beloved St. Patrick?
John Kubasak - Mar 16, 2016
St. Patrick did not discover a pairing of corned beef, cabbage, and Guinness; nor did he invent green beer. St. Patrick was, however, was a great evangelist, and was the Holy Spirit’s vessel in converting Ireland to the Christian faith. Although a self-described “sinner without learning,” St. Patrick left a mark on the Emerald Isle that endures 1,500 years after his death. Today, March 17, many nations of the world celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We... -

What is a Catholic shrine? A Catholic shrine is a church or other sacred place which has the approval of the local bishop and which is visited by the faithful as pilgrims (Canon 1230). Why Do Catholics Believe in the Immaculate Conception?
Sara and Justin Kraft - Dec 8, 2015
We celebrate a beautiful and important feastday this week, in the middle of Advent. December 8 marks the “Feast of the Immaculate Conception” in the Catholic Church. The Church uses the word “Feast” to describe a day of commemoration in which we remember and ponder events of particular significance in salvation history. The teaching of the Immaculate Conception is so fundamental that the Feast has been raised to a Holy Day of Obligation, meaning the truth is so... -
14 Of The Most Powerful Peace Quotes From St Teresa Of Avila
Maureen Dillon - Nov 17, 2015
With the political volitility in the US, Christian persecutions in the Middle East and natural disaters throughout the world, it can be challenging to continue to hope for peace in the world--the peace of Christ, the Prince of Peace. As Christians, we accept that we live in a fallen world and the cross is a reality. We accept that suffering and death are part of this journey, but that the ultimate reality is the Resurrection. We also accept that peace begins in our own hearts, our own... -
